CAROLINA FOREST, SC (WBTW) – Horry County Police say they have received multiple reports of objects being thrown at moving cars on Carolina Forest Blvd. over the weekend.
The Petro family was pulling out of Walkers Woods onto Carolina Forest Blvd. when their windshield was shattered by what they believe to have been a rock.
“We were like, what was that? Kinda shook,” 17-year-old Brandon Petro, who was riding in the back seat said.
“I thought we hit a car, got into a car accident, and then I saw all the glass on the dashboard and I thought, oh my God,” Petro said.
While no one was hurt, Petro says the situation has still caused his family a lot of stress.
Now they are trying to figure out if it will even be possible to replace the windshield on their family car.
“It’s an ’89 Suburban so the windshield is older. It’s kinda hard to find one of those, probably costs a lot of money too,” Petro said.
The Horry County Police Department is investigating the reports. They’re asking for anyone with information about the incidents, or those responsible to call 843-915-TIPS (8477) or email crimetips@horrycounty.org.
