Brush fire near Hwy 501 poses no threat to public, area isolated to avoid spread of fire, MBFD says

MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WBTW) – The Myrtle Beach Fire Department says a brush fire near Highway 501 in the Myrtle Beach area poses no threat to the public. 

The area has been isolated, so the fire cannot spread, a tweet from the department on Wednesday said. 

Myrtle Beach fire crews responded to a brush fire near Highway 501 on Saturday.

Crews with the Myrtle Beach Fire Department responded to the brush fire off Jason Blvd. near Hwy. 501, according to a Facebook post from the MBFD.

“Crews responded quickly and were able to contain the fire to about 2 acres of undeveloped area,” the post said. “No structures were involved or threatened.”
