Authorities are investigating after a body was found in Socastee, Saturday morning.
Captain John Harrelson with Horry County Police tells us the body was found off of Peach Tree Road in Socastee. That is just off of Highway 544.
Horry Conty Deputy Coroner, Chris Dontell has identified the victim as 28-year-old Rachel Ann King.
He says she was originally from the Charleston area, and had recently been living in Horry County.
She died of multiple injuries sustained in a pedestrian accident.
Highway Patrol says the incident happened on August 12 at 12:30 a.m. but her body was not found until days later on the 18th.
