MYRTLE BEACH AREA, SC (WBTW) – a local 8-year-old created the “Better Together Initiative” to bring kids together in the Myrtle Beach area.
On Wednesday, the campaign made a presentation at St. James Elementary School, where they received a buddy bench.
The Grand Strand Optimist Club donated the bench.
The schools had to submit videos of why they should get a bench.
Buddy benches are used as ways to help students connect and make friends to make sure no one is lonely or left out.
South Conway Elementary, River Oaks Elementary, and the Palmetto Academy also all got buddy benches this week.
