MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WBTW) – Brock Johnson joined News13 NOW at 9 a.m. to talk about the upcoming “Beards, Brews & Tattoos” event that will benefit Wheel to Surf and the Adaptive Surf Project.

Johnson is the founder of Wheel to Surf and the assistant director of the Adaptive Surf Project. The organizations make it possible for people with disabilities to get into the ocean and go surfing.

Beards, Brews & Tattoos is a fundraiser that will help the organizations continue that work. The event on Saturday, Feb. 3, will include a beard and mustache competition with several different categories and also a tattoo contest. Both will be held at The Boathouse in Myrtle Beach. So of course beer will be available. There will also be live music and prizes.

Registration is from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday. The competitions begin at 7:30 p.m. A $5 donation is requested to attend and watch the competition. A $20 entry fee is required to compete.
