Beach access, parking to close in Garden City

GEORGETOWN CO., SC – Georgetown County’s Beach Access No. 1 (at Yucca Ave. in Garden City), along with associated parking areas, will be closed temporarily beginning Wednesday, June 5.

This closure will allow for beach renourishment on the Georgetown County portion of Garden City Beach from approximately Beach Access No. 8 to the county line.

“Contractors will work as quickly as possible to replace sand in the areas most affected by last fall’s tropical storm season and get Access No. 1 reopened, according to Public Information Officer, Jackie R. Broach-Akers.
