A judge signed off Wednesday on an order that has lifted the gag order in the Tammy Moorer case, according to her attorney.
Greg McCollum told News13 he prepared and filed the order less than a day after a jury found Moorer guilty on a kidnapping and conspiracy to kidnap charge in the disappearance of Heather Elvis.
McCollum says both Judge Benjamin Culbertson, who oversaw Moorer’s trial, and 15th Circuit Solicitor Jimmy Richardson signed the order.
Moorer, along with her husband Sidney Moorer, are both charged with kidnapping and conspiracy to kidnap in connection to Elvis’ 2013 disappearance.
On Tuesday, the judge sentenced Moorer to 30 years in prison for the conspiracy to kidnap charge, and 30 years for the kidnapping charge. The sentences will run concurrently and she will get credit for time served.
More than 30 witnesses were called to testify in the trial that lasted 11 days, including Moorer in her own defense.
