MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WBTW) – The U.S. Army Golden Knights parachuting team made a special appearance in Myrtle Beach on Saturday.

Team members jumped out of airplanes thousands of feet in the air and landed on the beach in an effort to recruit new members to the Army and to connect the public with the military.

“I love to share information and knowledge with people, and this is a great opportunity to do it because we have the ultimate attention grabber, jumping out of the sky,” Sgt. Nick Grimm, an Army Golden Knight skydiver said.

The demonstration and competition parachute team travels around the world for performance and skydiving events.

On Saturday, the Golden Knights dove onto the Myrtle Beach sand with a message.

“To bring attention to both the opportunities that are available to everyone in the Army, and also bring attention to the fact that we have men and women all over the world right now who are serving, potentially in harm’s way, and to remind the public and bridge the gap that exists between the public and the military is really an honor for us,” Grimm said.
