A ribbon cutting on Tuesday officially opened the new location of “A Father’s Place” in the Racepath Community of Conway.
The father-based non-profit serves men in Horry, Georgetown, Marion and Williamsburg counties.
It offers services to help men overcome the barriers to being a responsible and involved father.
“It’ll help us with our employment training, we do a boot camp class,” said J.V. Mott, a site manager for the organization. “It also holds our P.O.P meeting. We have a ‘Parents on Point’ group that meets at six in the evening on Tuesdays. those are young dads age 15 to 24.”
In addition to the ribbon cutting, the group also collected non-perishable food items for those in need.
