An organization that helps fathers in our area hopes a ribbon-cutting will lead to more people getting help.
“A Father’s Place” is based at the Historic Colored School Museum in Myrtle Beach. The ribbon-cutting and open house events were held on Tuesday.
The organization offers different services to help fathers be better leaders in their families.
The executive director says there’s always room for more people to be involved.
“There’s so many people in the community who do not know we’re here. This is a very transient county, very transient community, and we want to let them know we are still here. We’re doing great work serving fathers and families in the same location,” says Wallace Evans, the executive director of “A Father’s Place.”
“A Father’s Place” has served Horry, Georgetown, Marion, and Williamsburg counties since 2000.
The organization also offers some assistance to women, including help with finding work.
