MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WBTW) – Booking information from Myrtle Beach police identifies the two people charged for a shooting Wednesday morning at the Aquarius motel.
Captain David Knipes with the police department says officers were called to the Aquarius III motel on 12th Avenue North around 8:30 a.m. after a guest reportedly heard gunshots. The shot was reportedly fired in the parking lot, but Capt. Knipes says officers were not able to locate a victim initially.
Police booking information confirms 37-year-old Elaine Mason has been charged with discharging a firearm within city limits and unlawful carrying of a pistol in the case. Records also show 45-year-old Sheddrick Ortavio Pendergrass has been charged with assault, possession of a weapon during a violent crime and possession of marijuana in the same incident.
According to Capt. Knipes, the witness told officers they saw a man and woman armed with a revolver in the parking lot arguing before they left the motel in a dark red pickup truck.
Wednesday afternoon, officers were called to the 7 Brother’s motel about people in a room arguing. When they arrived, officers found the vehicle from the Aquarius Motel.
“The suspects were identified by witnesses and city video cameras, as tracked by the Real Time Crime Unit. During execution of a search warrant, a Ruger 357 revolver was located inside the room and one of the bullets had been discharged,” the release from Capt. Knipes stated.
