MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WBTW) – One of the North Carolina men charged in connection with the Myrtle Beach shooting on Ocean Boulevard in June 2017 was in court Tuesday afternoon.
Myrtle Beach Police Captain Joey Crosby says Jarvez Datwan Graham, 19, is the last suspect to be extradited to Myrtle Beach in connection with the shooting. Graham faces six attempted murder charges.
Graham’s bond is set at $100,000 and he is to wear an electronic monitoring device and live in his mother’s home if he gets out of jail. The judge also ordered Graham to have no contact with the victims.
Graham is one of five suspects arrested in the shooting, which was streamed on Facebook Live as it happened.
Myrtle Beach police Captain Joey Crosby says the shooting was reported at about 12:30 a.m. Sunday, June 18, as a group of people were blocking traffic on Ocean Boulevard.
Police say a fight started and someone pulled a gun and began firing. Officers say a security guard who saw the shooting fired his weapon and wounded the suspected gunman, later identified as Derias Jshawn Little. The security officer was grazed by a bullet but was treated at the scene.
Little then shot numerous rounds and escaped the scene by carjacking a vehicle, police said.
At a city council meeting two days after the shooting, Myrtle Beach Police Chief Amy Prock also confirmed the suspect and immediate victim knew each other and were involved in gang activity. The shooting actually originated after an incident in North Carolina, where many of the victims and the suspect are from, confirms Prock.
Seven people were taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
