MYRTLE BEACH, SC – Grand Strand Health will sponsor seminars about weight loss surgery and heart failure. There will also be free diabetic foot screenings in November. All will be held at HealthFinders inside Coastal Grand Mall, beside Dillard’s.
Bariatric Surgeon Neil McDevitt, MD, with Coastal Carolina Bariatric & Surgical Center, will discuss weight loss surgery on Thursday, November 10 from 6 – 7 pm. He will present on who would qualify as a candidate, what to expect, the procedure and risk factors for the surgery.
On Thursday, November 17 from 6 – 7 pm, Interventional Cardiologist Jerry Watson, MD, with Grand Strand Heart & Vascular Care, will discuss the causes, warning signs and treatment options for heart failure. He will also introduce Grand Strand Medical Center’s new heart failure clinic.
Podiatrists Joseph Menn, DPM, and Scott Werter, DPM, with Coastal Podiatry Associates, will be conducting free diabetic foot screenings for diabetes awareness month on Wednesday, November 30 from 6 – 7:30 pm. Those who are not diabetic, but would like a foot screening, are welcome to attend.
