MYRTLE BEACH, SC – Grand Strand Health will sponsor a seminar in May about advances in stroke care. There will also be a discounted lipid profile and A1C event and free foot screenings. All will be held at HealthFinders inside Coastal Grand Mall, beside Dillard’s.

High blood pressure, high cholesterol and diabetes are all medical risk factors for stroke that can be controlled. HealthFinders will hold a Discounted Screenings Day on Monday, May 9 from 10 am – 7:30 pm. On this day, you can learn your cholesterol and long term blood sugar levels for a discounted price. We will offer our A1C and lipid profile (12-hour fast required) screenings for $15 each (cash or check). Blood pressure and weight can also be checked for FREE. Screenings will be on a first come, first serve basis.

On Tuesday, May 10 from 6 – 7:30 pm Podiatrists Scott Hamilton, DPM, and Joseph Menn, DPM, with Coastal Podiatry Associates, will offer Free Foot Screenings. Interventional Neuroradiologist Christopher Durst, MD, with Carolina Radiology Associates, will present Advances in Stroke and Neurovascular Care on Thursday, May 12 from 6 – 7 pm. Dr. Durst will discuss new treatment options that use less invasive radiology procedures for ischemic and hemorrhagic strokes.
