MYRTLE BEACH, SC – Grand Strand Health will sponsor seminars about weight loss surgery, erectile dysfunction and recognition of stroke, heart attack and sudden cardiac arrest in September. There will also be free foot screenings and an American Red Cross blood drive. All will be held at HealthFinders inside Coastal Grand Mall, beside Dillard’s.
Bariatric Surgeon Michael Michel, MD, with Coastal Carolina Bariatric & Surgical Center, will discuss Weight Loss Surgery on Tuesday, September 13 from 6 – 7 pm. He will present on who would qualify as a candidate, what to expect, the procedure and risk factors for the surgery.
On Thursday, September 15 from 11 am – 7 pm, give the gift of life with the American Red Cross. A blood drive will be held in front of HealthFinders. Blood donations help millions of patients in need.

On Wednesday, September 28 from 6 – 7 pm, Grand Strand Health’s Director of Cardiopulmonary Outreach Debbie Kirkman, RN-BC, Stroke Program Coordinator Toni Stillinger, BSN, RN, BCEN, and Horry County Fire Rescue Assistant Chief Justin Gibbins will discuss why Minutes Matter. Recognition of stroke, heart attack and sudden cardiac arrest along with what happens following the 911 call will be presented. Participants will learn Hands-Only® CPR.
