Myrtle Beach, SC (PRESS RELEASE) – On Wednesday, July 8 from 11 am to 1 pm, Grand Strand Medical Center will host a stop along the Air Methods Great American Safety Drive. This is the 2nd Annual drive sponsored by Air Methods to help raise awareness and funds for MedEvac Foundation International, a non-profit that supports the Air Medical and Critical Care Ground Transport Industry’s ability to provide quality medical care and safe, effective air and ground medical transportation for every patient in-need.
Exhibitors will be set up at Grand Strand Medical Center near the Ambulance Bay at the Emergency Room to provide safety education for the public and hospital staff. Exhibitors include: fire safety from City of Myrtle Beach Fire Department, field sobriety from SC Highway Patrol, injury prevention from Grand Strand Medical Center’s Trauma Center, helicopter landing zone safety training for Emergency Room staff (public is welcome to see the aircraft) by Air Methods, hands-only CPR and other health information from Grand Strand Health employees. The Metro Aviation 2015 Chevy Camaro will also be on display during this event.

The drive kicked off on June 10th at the Shreveport Municipal Stadium in Shreveport, LA for the southern route and will end in Long Beach, CA. This event is free and open to the public.
