Grand Strand Health is hosting a Teddy Bear Clinic on Saturday, May 30 from 10am to 2pm.  It will be held at Grand Strand Medical Center in the new Pediatric Unit and Pediatric Intensive Care Unit in the South Tower.  This event is free and open to the public.

Grand Strand Health’s Teddy Bear Clinic is an educational and fun program designed for children ages 13 and younger.  Together with their favorite fuzzy friend – a teddy bear or stuffed animal, children will take a kid-friendly tour of Grand Strand Medical Center’s new Pediatric Intensive Care Unit. Along the way, they will take their fuzzy friend to see a physician, have an x-ray and visit with the pharmacy staff.  The goal of the teddy bear clinic is to provide a fun environment that will alleviate a child’s fears of the hospital setting.

Children are encouraged to bring their favorite fuzzy friend to the clinic.  Free teddy bears will be provided to the first 200 children that take the tour. Face painting, crafts, games, giveaways and tasty treats will be on-hand at this fun-filled event.  Children will also have the opportunity to meet fire and EMS staff and explore an ambulance and fire truck during the clinic.
