FLORENCE, SC (WBTW) – Governor Henry McMaster met with supporters at The Drive-In on Saturday as part of his #SCWinning Bus Tour.

With just a few days until the primaries, Governor McMaster spent three days on the road, making stops in several cities in the state, including Florence, Myrtle Beach, and Columbia. He met with supporters and discussed his plans of action for re-election. He is vowing to create jobs, cut taxes and increase school security.

While speaking to the crowd at The Drive-In, Governor McMaster said he wants to cut taxes 15%.

“When you bring down taxes, people have money. And they’ll spend money. And they come to places like this and they open up businesses. They invest,” he said. He also said he wants to restore law and order and keep law-breaking people out of South Carolina. He promised to put “certified law enforcement officers in every school in every district” in the state. Governor McMaster received a round of applause when he said he wants to keep South Carolina free of sanctuary cities.

Governor McMaster also touted economic growth and job creation in the state and promised to continue that trend if re-elected. He also praised President Donald Trump and said he thinks America will vote red in the midterms.

“I think the midterm elections are going to be very much pro-Donald Trump. I think Donald Trump has proven that he is a great leader,” he said. “He does things that people have been wanting done for a long time. He might not do them the way they used to do them but they way they used to do them wasn’t working and by golly, it’s working now.”

Governor McMaster ended his 3-day bus tour at a National Rifle Association rally in Columbia.

The primary elections will be held on Tuesday, June 12.
