RALEIGH, NC (WBTW) – Counties in North Carolina affected by Hurricane Matthew will not have to pay certain DMV fees for the rest of the year.

In an statement released Saturday morning, North Carolina Gov. Pat McCrory said he’d told the DMV to waive the fees in an effort to “provide relief to residents impacted by Hurricane Matthew.”

The waivers apply to license & ID card fees and vehicle fees. motor vehicle property taxes will still be due.

Gov. McCrory has also signed an executive order directing flexibility with school calendars, approving disaster unemployment assistance for those who lost their jobs as a result the hurricane, and extending the tax filing deadline…among other actions. Below is a list of counties affected by the governor’s order.

The action applies to the following counties:

Beaufort, Bertie, Bladen, Brunswick, Camden, Carteret, Chowan, Columbus, Craven, Cumberland, Currituck, Dare, Duplin, Edgecombe, Gates, Greene, Harnett, Hoke, Hyde, Johnston, Jones, Lenoir, Martin, Nash, New Hanover, Onslow, Pamlico, Pasquotank, Pender, Perquimans, Pitt, Robeson, Sampson, Tyrrell, Washington, Wayne and Wilson.

The action applies to the following DMV fees:

License/ID Card Fees:

• Duplicate Drivers License: $13

• Duplicate CDL: $13

• New or Duplicate Special ID: $13

Vehicle Fees:

• Duplicate or Corrected Title: $20

• Replacement Registration Plates: $20

• Duplicate Registration Card: $20

• Registration Renewal Late Fees: $15-$25
