CONWAY, SC (WBTW) – High-flying basketball came to Conway’s HTC Center Saturday.
The Harlem Globetrotters took the court against the Washington Generals as the world famous team celebrates its 90th anniversary world tour.
Thousands in the crowd were entertained by athletic displays of passing, shooting and of course some rim rattling dunks.
It was a chance for fans who grew up watching the team to share it the experience with their own kids.
Ron Rivas’ grandfather played against the Globetrotters as a college student, and he was excited to take his own son to watch the historic team.
“He loves basketball, you know, just to let him see something that’s been around for so long. It’s fun action and he loves this type of stuff,” said Rivas.
It’s the Globetrotters only trip to Horry County this year, but they’ll be back in South Carolina for a game in Aiken on March 9th.
