Leadership development is at the heart of the Girl Scout mission, and the leaders of tomorrow look to outstanding women as models for the character and determination it takes to succeed. Every year, Girl Scouts of Eastern South Carolina honors women who make a difference in their local communities at the annual Mary Dean Brewer Women of Distinction gala. These awards are presented in recognition of those women who have demonstrated significant achievement in their fields of endeavor, made contributions affecting their local and/or broad communities and acted as positive role models for today’s young women.
