Forensics and what health care workers should know about violence are the topics of a seminar Monday, Feb. 23, at Wachesaw Conference Center.
Sponsored by Georgetown Hospital System and intended for health care workers, law enforcement workers, victim advocates and the general public, the event is set for 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Admission is $25.
Speakers will include Lt. Robin Taylor of SLED, Courtney Thompson of the CSI State Crime Lab, Louise Carson of the Children’s Recovery Center and Gina Carbino, BSN, RN,SANE, a sexual assault nurse examiner, who works at Georgetown Hospital System. Carbino also serves on the board of directors for the Rape Crisis Center for Horry and Georgetown counties and is a certified victim’s advocate through the South Carolina attorney general’s office.
