ATLANTA, GA – It was a wild one in Atlanta Saturday as the Coastal Baseball team faced elimination against the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets. It was back and forth affair all the until the very end, but Georgia Tech scored 5 runs in the 7th to take the lead at 9-7, and they held on for the 10-8 win ending the CCU season. Coastal jumped out to leads of 4-0 and 7-2, before the Jackets took control in that 7th.
Leading the way for CCU was Zach Biermann who had 2 hits, 2 runs scored, and 2 RBI. Kieton Rivers and Cory Wood each had a pair or hits and a pair of runs scored.
Matt Eardensohn worked the final 3 innings on the mound and allowed just 1 run.
For Georgia Tech, Kyle McCann had 2 hits, 2 runs scored and 4 RBI on the day. McCann hit the game tying 3-run triple in the 7th inning to tie the game at 7. Tristan English had 3 hits, 2 runs scored and 2 RBI. He also pitched the final 3 innings to seal the deal for Georgia Tech.
The Chants finish the season with a 36-26-1 record.
Georgia Tech and Auburn will play in the NCAA regional finals on Sunday night. If Tech can win, the same two would play again on Monday at noon.
