The Georgetown County Sheriff’s Office never uses telemarketing to levy fines or advertise to individuals with warrants to make immediate restitution over the telephone.

Sheriff A. Lane Cribb wants to warn the citizens of Georgetown County that someone using the Georgetown County Sheriff’s Office name is making phone calls in an attempt to solicit fines and fees from individuals.

If you receive a phone call from someone claiming to call on behalf of the Georgetown County Sheriff’s Office to solicit fines or fees, please contact local Law Enforcement or report the call to the Georgetown County Sheriff’s Office at (843) 546-5102.

Please, again, be cautious of anyone calling and asking you for money.
