GEORGETOWN, SC (WBTW) – Georgetown Police arrested a man they say robbed a bank in January.
Surveillance photos were previously released of the suspected robber and the get-a-way vehicle. The Georgetown Police Department announced Monday that officers arrested Percy Blackwell Jr., 47, of Andrews, around 11:20 a.m. Monday after investigators made a traffic stop on a vehicle he was riding in on Alex Alford Road.
According to police, around 12 p.m. January 15, Blackwell walked into the South State Bank, located at 1025 Church Street in Georgetown, and passed a note to the teller demanding cash. The teller gave Blackwell an unknown amount of money, police add.
Blackwell left the bank in a black Dodge hatchback, police report.
Blackwell was booked into the Georgetown County Detention Center at 2:09 p.m. Monday where he awaits his bond hearing. He is charged with simple possession of marijuana and robbery after entry, according to online booking records.
