GEORGETOWN, SC (WBTW) – The Georgetown County Sheriff’s Office arrested a 69-year-old man Thursday in connection to a sexual assault complaint.

According to the department, James A. Gabella, 69, of Georgetown, was charged with one count of criminal sexual conduct in the first degree and one count of kidnapping. He was arrested without incident.

The Georgetown County Sheriff’s Office says it reported to Georgetown Tidelands Memorial Hospital Thursday afternoon in response to a sexual assault complaint. According to a press release, the victim stated they went to the man’s residence to quote a house cleaning job. The victim told deputies once they went inside, he produced a weapon and forced them into a sexual battery.

Gabella remains in custody at the Georgetown County Detention Center.
