For the second consecutive year, Georgetown Hospital System has been recognized for excellence in its employee health programs and practices by a leading advocate for workplace wellness.
The WorkHealthy America Excellence Recognition, which is from Prevention Partners, singles out programs with the highest standards for workplace health and prevention. The hospital system earned l As in all four modules of WorkHealthy America, a Prevention Partners initiative addressing tobacco use, physical activity, nutrition, and the overall culture around health and wellness.
“This renewed excellence recognition confirms GHS’ dedication and commitment to employee partner wellness,” said Jan Harper, senior vice president and chief human resources officer. “As the Carolinas’ first hospital system to receive triple gold recognition, we believe that through our wellness initiatives our employee partners will adopt and sustain healthier lifestyles that will translate into ongoing improvements to both patient safety and overall patient satisfaction.”
Specifically, the recognition cites policies, programs and benefits that support employee health, optimize employee productivity and integrate wellness into daily operations.

Prevention Partners works with the South Carolina Hospital Association’s Working Well initiative to engage hospital leaders and staff to develop and encourage employee wellness programs and activities. These efforts are funded through the Duke Endowment.
