GEORGETOWN, SC (WBTW) – Georgetown County Emergency Management says they are currently out of stock of sandbags.

The full supply obtained Wednesday was given out to the public within 90 minutes yesterday.

Officials were expecting a larger supply Thursday afternoon and said they would begin distributing again at 8 Oaks when it arrives.

Spokesperson Jackie Broach with Georgetown County said they had run out for the day around 4 p.m. but they had more on order.

News13 was told that Georgetown County handed out 4,000 sandbags in just 72 minutes Thursday.

The county has ordered 5,000 more sandbags and expect them to arrive sometime Friday.

In the meantime, people can call the hotline number, 843- 545-3273, to check supply.
