GEORGETOWN, S.C. (WBTW)- The Georgetown County Sheriff’s Office is asking the public for information about an armed robbery.

Deputies say the robbery happened Wednesday morning around 3:15, at the Dollar General on North Fraser Street in the Choppee Community.

According to deputies, the suspect entered the store, showed a handgun, and demanded money from the employee. The suspect then left the store and ran into the woods with the money.

There were no injuries.

The suspect is described as a man 30 to 40 years old, approximately 5’09”, with a heavy build and a beard. He was wearing a camouflage hooded sweatshirt with a grey hooded sweatshirt underneath, dark pants, white tennis shoes,

and white glasses with beads.
