Georgetown deputies arrest man in connection to May Dollar General robbery

GEORGETOWN, SC (WBTW) – Investigators with the Georgetown County Sheriff’s Office say they have arrested a man in connection to an armed robbery at a Dollar General that happened in May.

The press release from the sheriff’s office says the store on North Fraser Street was robbed on May 25.  Witnesses told deputies a man wearing a camouflage jacket and dark pants entered the store, pulled out a gun and demanded cigarettes and cash from the clerk.

On Oct. 22, 36-year-old Robert William Lambert of Georgetown was arrested and charged with armed robbery and possession of a weapon during a crime. Booking records also show Lambert was charged with driving with a suspended license.

Lambert is currently being held at the Georgetown County Detention Center.
