GEORGETOWN, SC (WBTW) — Georgetown County sheriff’s deputies arrested a man for a deadly stabbing early Wednesday morning.
According to a press release, it happened near 4092 Old Pee Dee Road in Hemingway, where responding deputies found a man’s body in the road. They say he had been stabbed several times. The Georgetown COunty Coroner’s office identified the victim as Emmitt Kelly, 23, of Conway.
Kelly was transported to Tidelands Health where he later was pronounced dead.
Deputies arrested 27-year-old M’Andre Cochran, who lived near the scene, and deputies think came home to find the man, who was staying with him, and proceeded to stab him several times.
Cochran is charged with murder and possession of a deadly weapon.
