Georgetown County Sheriff’s Office searching for suspect in credit card fraud case

The Georgetown County Sheriff’s Office is searching for a suspect in three credit card fraud cases in the Pawleys Island area.

A press release says a victim’s credit card information was stolen from a skimmer device at a gas station in Conway and was used to make purchases on Friday at several stores including Publix, Bi-Lo, and the Speedway gas station on Ocean Highway.

The suspect is described by police as a Hispanic male in his mid-20s, who has brown hair with blond streaks on top. Security footage from the Publix shows the suspect wearing a black and white tank top, jean shorts, and a gold-colored chain.

The release also says the suspect was seen with another man in a silver 2004 to 2009 Dodge Durango at the gas station.

Anyone with information about the suspect’s identity, his location, or the car should call the Georgetown County Sheriff’s Office at 843-546-5102. Anonymous tips can also be sent by using Text-A-Tip.
