The 1% capital project sales tax approved by Georgetown County voters last November, will go into effect next month.
Collection of the tax will begin on May 1 and continue for four years.
All Georgetown County businesses should have already received information from the S.C. Department of Revenue regarding implementation of the tax.
The tax will not apply to food, prescription medicine and any other items that are exempt from the state sales tax.
