GCSO warns public of scammers taking vehicles for test drives, not returning

GEORGETOWN, SC (WBTW) – The Georgetown County Sheriff’s Office is warning the public about a new scam affecting people selling their motorcycles on Craigslist and other social media sites.

A release from Georgetown County Sheriff’s Office Spokesperson Alma Sierra says scammers have reportedly contacted people who posted about selling their motorcycles, met with the sellers to see and test drive the vehicles,  then not returned after the test drive.

The sheriff’s office encourages people to be cautious and to contact local law enforcement with any concerns.
