FLORENCE, S.C. (WBTW) – A bypass of the pipeline leak that led to gas shortages and higher prices for drivers across the South is now complete. Colonial pipeline says it expects to re-start its main gasoline line tomorrow. News13’s reports on the issues the shortage has caused at some local stations.

Murphy Express gas station is struggling to maintain gas but not because of the pipeline disruption in Alabama but because of many drivers coming out to get gas after reports of shortages in other states.

Customers like, Alan Ham, said they would rather be safe than sorry.

Ham said, “I was not really out shopping for gas today but because of the situation I thought I probably better fill up.”

A limited number of gas stations in Florence like the SAMs Club is also seeing a shortage of supply but as a direct result of the pipeline problems.

The General Manager at the SAMs Club says they are not sure when they will have gas. Count on News13 for updates.
