CHEROKEE CO., SC (WSPA) – A Gaffney man was fatally stabbed during a fight early Sunday morning at an apartment complex.
The Cherokee County Coroner identified the victim as Jason Edward Brewton, 34.
According to the coroner, a witness told officials that Brewton went to Granard Courts on West Rutledge Avenue around 3:30 a.m. The witness said Brewton and another male argued on the front porch of the apartment for about a half an hour before a physical altercation took place.
The coroner said Brewton was stabbed multiple times during the fight and died at the scene.
An autopsy is scheduled for Monday morning.
