DARLINGTON, S.C. (WBTW)- Funeral services will happen this week for a 17-year-old from Darlington who died two days after being pulled from the ocean.
Last Friday afternoon, Chief Deputy Coroner Tamara Willard confirmed that Mikease McFarland was pronounced dead at Grand Strand Hospital.
On July 6, the Myrtle Beach Fire Department was dispatched to 42nd Avenue around 4:15 p.m. on a call of distressed swimmers. McFarland, was pulled from the ocean by lifeguards and people on the beach.
His funeral will be held on Wednesday July 13th at 2:00pm in the Darlington High School Gymnasium.
Visitation of the McFarland family will be at their home on Monday July 11th from 5:00pm-9:00pm and Tuesday July 12th from 5:00pm-9:00pm.
