Allen Jacobs, the Greenville Police Officer who was gunned down Friday while chasing a suspect will have a public prayer vigil on Tuesday, visitation on Wednesday and a funeral on Thursday.
Greenville Police say the public prayer vigil will be held Tuesday, March 22nd at 6 pm in Cleveland Park near the Julie Valentine Memorial (Shelters 5 & 6).
This event will be conducted by the Police Chaplains and the public is invited to join us. Parking will be opened to allow vehicles to park in the meadow for this event.
The visitation will be held Wednesday, March 23 at Daniel Memorial Chapel at Furman University from 3pm to 6pm.
The funeral for Jacobs will start at 11am on Thursday, March 24 at Timmons Arena at Furman University. There will be a service at Coleman Memorial Cemetery in Travelers Rest immediately after. Arrangements are being handled by Mackey Mortuary.
A vigil is also being held Saturday night for Jacobs at his church, Christ Fellowship in Travelers Rest, beginning at 7pm.
