Fund set up for teen who went missing off Myrtle Beach coast

COLUMBUS, GA  – A fund has been set up for Jaylin “Jay” Tolbert, the Columbus, Georgia teen who went missing on June 16 while swimming with his 10-year-old brother in the ocean at Myrtle Beach.

Both boys got into distress while they were swimming. Life Guards were able to save the younger boy by tossing him a buoy, but they were unable to locate Jay. Efforts are continuing to recover the teen.RELATED: Crews resume search for missing Myrtle Beach swimmer

Jay is the son of Salacia “Lacey” Ford and a student at Rothschild Middle School.

All funds raised will be used for a suitable remembrance service, once he is found, and for counseling services for the family.
