Habitat for Humanity of Horry County will break ground on their 122nd home on Saturday February 28th, 2015. A blessing of the property will occur on Saturday February 28, 2015 at 8:30am. The build site is located at 3301 Della Road Longs, SC 29568. This home will be fully funded by the Fund for Humanity, which is an account funded by all of the mortgage payments made by Habitat homeowners since 1991.
The future homeowner, Tonda Chestnut, is truly an inspiration to everyone she meets. Tonda has four children and one grandchild. She works as a customer service representative. More importantly she is always giving back to her community, and touching the lives of everyone she meets. Tonda applied to the Habitat Homeownership program because of cramped and unsafe living conditions. She desires to provide a place for her and her children to call home and to feel safe. Tonda has put in countless hours of sweat equity with Habitat and has attended many financial classes where she has learned the knowledge and skills necessary to become a successful homeowner.
