FLORENCE, S.C. (WBTW) – Today Francis Marion University students held a moment of silence for the people killed in the 9/11 attacks.

Kappa Alpha asked students to place a flag for each of the 2,977 victims. Three Kappa Alpha brothers were lost in the attacks.

Kappa Alpha Philanthropy Chair, Christian Burris- Durham said, “People in their families, they are still suffering these losses. And we do this event to commemorate them, to commemorate their losses and loved ones.”

Burris- Durham adds, “They wanted to tear our nation apart and bring us down. Bring down Wall Street, bring down everything in our financial sector of our Country and tear us apart but in the end it just brought us together as a nation.”

This is  the Second year the Fraternity held the memorial.
