FLORENCE, S.C. (WBTW) – Four Florence Middle and High school students found a unique way to help people with damages from Hurricane Matthew.

The students say their Pastor at Newspring Church inspired them to help people impacted by Hurricane Matthew.

They decided to hold a yard sale, where 100 percent of the proceeds go to people with Hurricane damages.

Xaiver Williams said, “Everybody had a little something that they lost. It’s good to try to help out as much as possible.”

“It feels like I’m giving people hope. Inspiring them to do the same for other people,”Jason Godbolt adds.

The students raised about $300. Newspring Pastor Sam Gibson says he will match the money that the students raised.
