MARLBORO COUNTY, SC (WBTW) – A shooting at a Marlboro County night club injured four people Sunday morning.

According to the Marlboro County Sheriff’s Office the shooting happened at around 3:00 a.m. Sunday morning at a night club known as “MGM” or “Fortune”. It is located near the NC state line in an old casino building, according to Lt. Jamie Seales with the Marlboro County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies say four people who were affiliated or employed with the night club were treated at hospitals in North Carolina and South Carolina.

According to a press release the investigation shows that several altercations occurred due to disagreements with security. A gun fight ensued in the parking lot and multiple pieces of ballistic evidence was recovered and shots also went through the building and struck people inside. Sled crime scene unit and alcohol enforcement came to assist the Marlboro County Sheriff’s Office in the investigation as well as the Richmond County Sheriff’s office from North Carolina. Several pieces of evidence, witnesses and surveillance video has led to persons of interest. The investigation is in the early stages at this time. A car was leaving the shooting at a high rate of speed and crashed nearby and caught on fire. The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating the wreck and the Marlboro County Sheriff’s Office is assisting to see what relation it has to the shooting. Sled issued five infractions to the owners related to alcohol license, marijuana found inside and rules and regulations in regard to operating this type business.
