GEORGETOWN, SC – The Sadie Grice Funny Scholarship Foundation is launching its latest community event entitled Sadie Cares Health Fair and Back to School Jamboree. The 501 c 3 organization will host 500 school children and their parents on Friday, August 12, 2016 at the Beck Recreation Facility. In addition to a day of activities, families will be being provided free health screenings and children will receive free backpacks with school supplies. Most importantly, worships will be held on important topics for children returning back to school including Anger Management, Anti Bullying and Health and Hygiene.
“Our Foundation recognizes the overwhelming health disparities that plague communities such as Georgetown, as well as the tremendous need for resources for underprivileged families, especially those with school age children” said John J, Funny, the founder of Sadie Grice Funny Scholarship Foundation. “We are grateful to community partners who have agreed to participate in our event such as Tidelands Health, Georgetown Parks and Recreation and many other community partners. I especially want to thank and recognize the area businesses and restaurants for their in-kind support. It is the goal of our Foundation to host this worthwhile event each year going forward to benefit the children of Georgetown.”
Georgetown Mayor Jack Scoville and Georgetown County School District Deputy Superintendent Dr. Celeste Pringle will be in attendance at the community event.
