Former St. James Football Coach Mark Fischer Passes Away

LOUISA COUNTY, Va – Former St. James football coach Mark Fischer has passed away.  Fischer served as the Sharks head coach from 2011 to 2013 going 8-22 trying to turn around a young program that just began football in 2005.  After 2013, he began his second stint as the head coach in Louisa County in Virginia.  Fischer was diagnosed with multiple myelmona, a cancer of the bone marrow on September 21, 2012.  Fischer was declated cancer free on June 27, 2013, but it returned a few years later and was deemed incurable.  He stepped down from the Louisa County program in 2017, after leading them to a couple state championship appearances.
