MARION, SC (WBTW) – On Wednesday agents with SC Law Enforcement Division announced the arrest a former correctional officer with Marion County Detention Center for sexual activity with an inmate.
The release from SLED says Ariel Quintasha Roberts, 25, was charged with misconduct in office.
The arrest warrant says Roberts had sexual intercourse at the Marion County Detention Center with an inmate while on duty between Dec. 20, 2015 and May 18, 2015 . The warrant also says the information was substantiated through verbal and written statements from the defendant.
Roberts could face up to 10 years in prison for the violation.
The release says she was booked at the Marion County Detention Center and the case will be prosecuted by the 12th Circuit Solicitor’s Office.
