LONGS, S.C.(WBTW) – Police have arrested a suspect in the shooting death of a former high school football star.

Horry County Police say they received calls about a man randomly firing shots along Freemont Road in Longs on Saturday, around 4:00pm. Callers also reported that a man had been shot and was lying on the ground.

When police arrived to the scene they found a shooting victim lying in the road. The coroner identified the victim as 19-year-old Levi Herman Moody of Longs. The coroner says he died from a single gunshot wound to the abdomen at Seacoast Medical Center.

Moody was a running back for Loris High School made the All-Blitz team his senior year. According to family members, his funeral will be this Saturday, November 19th at Loris High School.

Horry County Police say the shooter was 19-year-old Devonta Williams also from Longs. Williams is facing several charges including murder, and attempted murder.

Officers say Williams also shot two other men, but they are both expected to make full recoveries.
