CONWAY, SC (WBTW) – The former Horry County Police detective named in several lawsuits filed his first response to the claims.
In the lawsuits filed against Allen Large, the women claim Large sexually assaulted them and that high-ranking officers in the department knew about it, and now Large is addressing those allegations.
The counterclaim was filed Monday by former detective Troy Allen Large in response to the lawsuit filed by a woman known as “Jane Doe 2”.
We first told you about that lawsuit in May where the woman claimed she received several unwanted sexual advances and was assaulted by Large inside his county issued vehicle.
That lawsuit also claims Large pushed her to participate in nude catfights with other women.
In the counterclaim filed Monday, Large denies those allegations.
He claims he tried to help Jane Doe 2 make better life decisions, but that she was a prostitute and a drug addict.
He says it’s because of her drug addiction and previous arrests that she lost custody of her children.
The claim states Jane Doe 2’s mother even told Large she was bad news, a liar, and a thief. Still, he says he and his wife tried to help her by taking her to church, providing her food and clothes.
In the counterclaim, Large says she made up the story about the assault and unwanted sexual advances to get back at him because he cut ties with her and refused to help her any longer.
Now Large is claiming the allegations made by Jane Doe 2 cost him his job he held with the department for 27 years.
He says she slandered his name and caused him damage to his career. The counterclaim says Large is seeking damages, though it did not specifically say what.
News13 spoke with Large Tuesday. He says he still maintains his innocence and that more lawsuits can be expected in the coming days.
