FLORENCE, SC (WBTW) – Former Florence County Councilman Russell Wade Culberson died Monday at MUSC in Charleston, according to the Stoudemire-Dowling Funeral Home. He was 74.
Culberson was on the council for 21 years, and retired in December of 2014. He also served for 10 years on the Economic Development authority in addition to several years on the Florence Regional Airport Commssion.
Surviving are his wife of 54 years, Mary Ruth Culberson; his son, Russell Wade Culberson, Jr.; his daughter, Kim Culberson Gardner; and 2 grandchildren, Whitney Gardner and Justin Gardner.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday at Mount Hope Cemetery, directed by Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 PM Wednesday at the Funeral Home.
