A former Coastal Carolina University student has been arrested and charged with 4 counts of murder after deputies discovered four people killed in Mt. Pleasant home, Saturday afternoon.

Charleston County deputies say 4 people were killed in a home on Atlanta Drive just before 11:30, Saturday afternoon. 

The Charleston County Sheriff’s Office arrested Lovequawn Matthew Shaire Scott, 22, and charged him with four counts of murder.

When deputies arrived, they discovered a man and woman’s body in the garage of the home. 

Deputies say when they entered the home, they also discovered two more women dead inside a bedroom of the home. 

Deputies detained Scott who was was still at the home when deputies arrived. 

Detectives are working to determine a motive as well as how the victims died.  At this time detectives do not believe that a gun was used during the crime.

Detectives and the Charleston County Coroner’s Office are working to learn the identity of the victims and notify family members.  This is an active investigation.

In November 2016, Scott was arrested by CCU police in connection to 8 breaking and entering incidents and multiple drug charges after an altercation with officers where he tried to pull a gun.
